Lab facilities

The Flex Power Grid Lab has a direct 10.5kV, 50Hz grid connection, several programmable power sources and passive loads available. These allow various operating circuits to be configured to supply all external (electrical) conditions to the device under test.

Power Sources

• the 4Q MV converter, refer "Test Possibilities"
• direct connection to the 10.5kV, 50Hz grid through a special transformer (0.9-1.8 MVA, 400V - 4.3kV). Numerous settings provide voltage steps that are adjustable within 2%.

Loads

• Converter in 4Q operation, refer "Test Possibilities"
• 10.5kV grid through special transformer, refer above
• Resistor Bank, maximum 500kW
• Reactor Bank, maximum 1 Mvar
• Capacitor Bank, maximum 1 Mvar
